Gift preferences stay in your browser
The gift finder saves shortlisted directions and the recipient form saves interests, shops, and things to avoid in your browser’s local storage. These are not synced to a Gift Ribbon account. Clearing this site’s browser storage removes these saved details.
If you choose to share a preference link, the link contains the preferences you selected. Anyone you send it to can read them. Only share details you want the recipient to see.
Optional analytics
When enabled, Microsoft Clarity and Google Analytics help us understand how people use public informational pages. These tools are loaded only after you allow analytics. Gift finder, recipient, account, quiz, and checkout pages, and pages opened with query or fragment data, are excluded. We do not send names, contact lists, gift notes, or recipient preferences as analytics identifiers.
Your analytics choice is stored in this browser. You can clear the site’s browser storage to choose again. Microsoft and Google process analytics data when the optional tools are enabled; their own privacy policies explain that processing.
Product links and advertising
Some historic gift guides contain affiliate links. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Clicking a retailer link takes you to that retailer, whose privacy and purchasing terms apply. Historic products, prices, and availability may have changed. Display advertising is not currently enabled on this replacement website. Hotjar is not installed on this replacement website.
Hosting and contact
Our hosting and network providers process requests needed to deliver the site, which can include IP addresses and request information. If you email us, the message and the details you include are handled through our email provider so we can respond.
